Day 4 - McCraney Lake – Little McCraney Lake – Rain Lake

When I woke up there was already a few of them up making coffee. I started to pack up all my stuff while I waited for the water to boil. Eventually everyone woke up and started to pack up there stuff and taking down the tents/hammocks.

During the first day and the massive storm there was a tree the size of one of us that fell down near my friends hammock. I ended up taking a picture of it which is down below.

Before we loaded up our canoes, we took our Group Photo to remember the worst weather during camping that we ever have had. We got into our vessels and started the trek back home. The weather for the way back was not terrible but still no sunshine.

Once we arrived at the portage, going to Rain Lake the first area was full of water and mud. We were not surprised considering how much rain there have been all weekend. We all took turns walking around the puddle and starting the long portage to Rain Lake. Along the path there was just numerous areas filled with mud, got to the point that we just started walking right through it.

Eventually we got to Rain Lake and started one vessels at a time getting into the water to paddle down to the Access Point. The weather was still gloomy but at least not raining. Once we got too the Access Point we unload the canoes and pack them away for Algonquin Basecamp to pick up. Everyone got changed into some cleaner clothes and got into our loaded up cars to start the drive home.
